My list lives in Rav Messer. Do I need to export the whole thing?

Asked

No. There's a direct Rav Messer (Responder) connection and it imports by itself, repeatedly, with no file.

How to connect: Settings → Integrations, the Rav Messer card → Connect. You generate the keys inside Rav Messer: the gear icon → “External connections (API)” → switch “General account key” on, and three values appear to copy.

After connecting you choose which lists to import. That isn't a display filter — a list you didn't choose is never read at all. Each Rav Messer list is mapped to a list on your side.

What happens next: everyone imported also lands in your contacts, and the sync runs again on its own, so unsubscribes made in Rav Messer reach you too. It's one-way — Coflow never writes back to Rav Messer.

Important: importing does not trigger sequences. None of your long-standing subscribers will suddenly get a “welcome” email.

I imported the list. Now what?

Asked

1. Organise it by meaning. One list called “everyone” isn't management. Split by where they came from and what they want — downloaded a guide, registered for a webinar, bought. The contacts themselves stay as one record; lists are memberships.

2. Connect each list to whatever feeds it — a form, a landing page or a quiz — so it keeps growing on its own.

3. Set up a verified sender address. Nothing can be sent without one.

4. Build an opening sequence for one list. Not all of them. One sequence that works beats five in draft.

5. Only then send a first issue, and look at who opened and who didn't — that's what tells you whether the list is alive at all.

What's the difference between a contact, a subscriber and a list?

A contact is the person's record — name, email, phone, and everything known about them. It exists once, no matter how many places they came in from.

A subscriber is the mailing facet of that same person: whether they can be emailed and whether they unsubscribed.

A list is a group. One person can be on several lists, which is exactly what lets you send them only what's relevant to them.

How do I import a list from a file?

The subscribers screen has an import. Upload a CSV or a spreadsheet, map the columns (email, name, phone) and choose which list they join.

An address you already have isn't created twice — it's matched to the existing record. You can re-run the same file without duplicating people.

Why do I have to verify a sender address?

So your emails land in the inbox instead of spam. Mail providers check that the sending domain really authorised the send, and verification is done by adding DNS records wherever your domain is hosted.

The screen shows exactly which records to add, and warns you if your domain host can't hold a particular record type.

If you don't have your own domain, you can start from a house address and move to your own domain later.

How do I send a newsletter?

A new issue starts in one of three ways: from a newsletter anchor (the system writes the issue in a structure you defined once), from a ready-made design template, or from a blank page.

In the editor you write and design, choose which list it goes to, and send or schedule it.

Send yourself a test first. How it looks in your inbox is how it looks in theirs.

What is a newsletter anchor?

A recurring newsletter defined once: its sections, what goes in each, and in what tone. After that every new issue is written in that structure instead of from scratch.

If a podcast is connected, there's also an anchor that writes an episode teaser from the transcript.

What happens when someone unsubscribes?

They're marked as unsubscribed and stop receiving mail. Their record isn't deleted — their history stays with you, they just don't get emails.

If the unsubscribe happened in a connected system, it reaches you on the next sync.

Can I have several newsletters under one brand?

No. One newsletter per brand — it's the only platform limited to a single instance.

Separating different audiences is done with lists, not with separate newsletters.
