What is Brand DNA, and why is it the first screen?

Your DNA is the distilled version of your brand as the system understands it: your audience, the problem you solve, your positions, the subjects you return to and your language.

It comes first because it is the input to everything else. Every post, every email and every template is written out of it — so editing it changes what gets created from that point on.

What does the diagnosis do, and what do I get out of it?

Asked

The diagnosis reads your public page — bio, images, recent posts — and returns two things. First: how your brand reads from the outside, through the eyes of someone landing on you for the first time. Second: a tactical audit of the page — what isn't working, what is, and what to fix this week in priority order.

It's not a personality read; it's a read of what's written and what went out. Which is why it's only worth something when it managed to read enough posts.

The diagnosis is off / stale. How do I run it again?

Asked

There's a “Refresh the analysis” action at the top of the diagnosis screen. It re-scans the page and rebuilds both the outside-in perception and the audit. It takes about a minute and a half, and the screen fills in section by section as each part lands.

Before refreshing, check that the page handle is right in the platform's settings. A diagnosis based on the wrong page comes back wrong no matter how many times you re-run it.

What's on the strategy screen, and how is it different from the diagnosis?

The diagnosis says where you stand today. The strategy says where to go: your position, your audience, the messages you want associated with you, and the subjects content is derived from.

The strategy also feeds content creation. Change a line there and what gets written from then on changes with it.

How does the system learn to write in my voice?

From three sources: what you've already published and the scan read, writing samples you add yourself on the Brand Voice screen, and the edits you make to outputs — when you rewrite a line, that correction is learned.

The fastest way to improve the voice is to paste two or three pieces you're proud of. That works better than describing your voice in words.

What goes into the Brand Kit, and where does it show up?

Colours, fonts and logo. Fonts are set as roles — heading, body, accent — and per content language, because a Hebrew font and an English font aren't the same choice.

What you set here shows up in post templates, landing pages, forms and emails. That's why it's worth setting once at the start rather than colouring every output by hand.

What are “brand settings” and the public address?

Your brand name and your public address. The address is the username every public link of yours sits on — a landing page, a form, your link in bio — in the form ‎<username>.coflow.website/<page>.

Set it once, early. Changing it later breaks links you already sent people.

If I change something in the brand profile, what happens to content already made?

Nothing. Existing outputs stay as they are. The change affects what gets created from now on.

If you want an existing post to reflect the change, regenerate it from the same anchor.
